Background :

Born on September 10th, 1759 to a moderately wealthy Tarborian merchant family Jean would grow up rough as his parents could spare little attention to him as they spent most of their time in the Areolean colonies, leaving Jean to remain alone for most of his young years against the wilderness and vagabonds of the street. By 1778 he would be aiding his parents with the business until 1784 when he stayed on the colony islands of Areole. He worked odd jobs in lumber and farming for a year until he was hired by an overseas mercenary company, created to help guard against local pirates and to put down local uprisings against the crown. He continued to work overseas until 1789 when he abruptly left and took a ship back to Taboria where he's worked as a lumberman since.
