MC Username: AnteaterAshley

Name: Cyrus Farahmand

Traits and Political Views:

Hot-Headed - Cyrus has an extremely short fuse, and is generally quick to anger. Combative, unwavering, and headstrong, Cyrus can be a serious pain in the ass to work alongside.

Silver-Tongued - Cyrus knows his bottom line. The rat race spares none, and if you want to make it as a supply-runner in the modern day, you have GOT to know how to seal a deal!

Strong Work Ethic - Cyrus knows that he's got to work to eat, and eat to live. He's accepted that sailing the seas is a genuine full-time job, and not just a 40 hour work week.

Expensive Tastes - Cyrus rakes in a lot of cash, that much is true, but his funds always seem to be running low. Curious!

Susceptible to Addiction - Cyrus easily finds himself hooked on substances, although he tries his best to keep this a secret to protect his credibility.

Cajra - Cyrus is Cajra of the Ardeshiri sect, and was raised that way. Doesn't think about it much anymore, and he's not nearly as devout of a worshipper as his sister, but it definitely has an effect on his life. Particularly, it makes trading with Solarists a hassle most of the time.

Resentful of Nobility - Cyrus knows who his big buyers are, but seeing the way they run the country is maddening. He can play the part of a suck up, but deep down he detests the nobility of these Isles. He has a specific disdain for Lord Zapto of Tal-Sharir, as Cyrus is deeply bothered by the dynamic the White Fox has with his little sister (See Leila Farahmand's Character Declaration for context).

Aggressively Hedonistic - What's the point of living if you're not really living?

Physical Traits:

Albino - Cyrus sure stands out in a crowd, with his silver hair and light blue eyes defying the genes of the Farahmand family. Unfortunately, this is more of a hinderance on the high seas, and Cyrus often finds himself with pretty bad sunburns if he spends too much time above deck.

Long Hair - Cyrus has deceptively long hair. You wouldn't be able to tell in his normal garb, as he somehow manages to hide most of it under his hat, but his hair easily reached more than halfway down his back when he lets it down from time to time.

Scarred - On the off chance that you'd see Cyrus out of his shirt, he is covered in scars from his time as a Seahunter. Both from the occasional incompetent crewmate and also from fighting sea monsters, none of his scars were pleasant to get, but they make for good stories here and there.

Strong - Cyrus is a blacksmith turned monster hunter turned mariner. Spends all day moving cargo from point A to point B, scarcely ever with any help. Needless to say, his lifestyle has made him quite physically fit.

Young - Cyrus was born in 1770, which makes him 20 years old as of 1790 (when this was last updated). He's a young adult with plenty of ambition, but can sometimes prove to be a bit naïve from his general lack of wisdom.

Likes:
Liquor - Cyrus is a heavy drinker, with a particular taste for tequila and citrus flavors

Song - Cyrus enjoys hearing a good song, although he can't sing along to save his life.

Warmth - Cyrus strongly prefers hot weather to cold weather. Although his tolerance for cold is high, likely from growing up in the mountains, he can't help but sit out in the sun every now and then.

Blue - Cyrus' favorite color is Blue.

Archery - Yeah, it's a rich man's sport, but Cyrus has thoroughly enjoyed the few times he's shot a bow.

Dislikes:
Coffee - Cyrus cannot stand the taste or feeling from drinking coffee.

Winter - Shorter days, Frozen ports, Gray skies, Biting cold. No good, terrible season.

Perceived Condescension - Cyrus fucking HATES the feeling of being patronized. See trait 1 to infer how this usually ends.

Mosquitoes - Everyone hates mosquitoes.

Over-Haggling - Cyrus gets the art of haggling. However, it's clear when someone doesn't know what they're doing and just assumes that more haggling is always better. At a certain point, it just gets tiresome.

Some goals:

- Consolidate power by influencing the right people at the right time.

- Make amends with his sister and his family.

- Make HELLA bank. I'm talking stacks upon stacks of gilded blocks.

- Eventually settle down, maybe have children. Who knows? That's so far away.

Background:
Born in 1770 to the Farahmand family in the spring of 1770, Cyrus had anything but a typical childhood. Raised in an extremely impoverished family, he was always brought as a second set of hands to his father's job at the Forge. If you thought that this would make them any closer, you'd be dead wrong. The two of them were so explosive that the slightest disagreement would cause a nuclear chain reaction. Eventually, Cyrus saved up enough money to purchase a horse, which he used to ride to Vidinia. The rest of his spending money went to getting plastered at the tavern after that. Eventually, he was offered a position as crew of a Huntsman ship. It was here where Cyrus shined the brightest, with his strong work ethic, headstrong nature, and silver tongue proving exceptionally useful in the tracking, hunting, and selling of Sea Monsters and their components. Shortly after he took up Seahunting, Cyrus had an intense falling out with his family, who strongly disapproved of his new, dangerous profession. Things came to a head when Cyrus stood up to his father against his treatment of his sister, Leila. He has not spoken to them since, nor does he intend to, but he still thinks of his sister often.

After the harpooner of his crew and Cyrus' best friend, Kian, was killed in a hunt, Cyrus was spooked away from Seahunting for good. That is, until he really needs the money again. For now though, he's got a pretty cushy gig as a traveling merchant. Flipping goods is easy money, but it can get quite dull for a rebellious spirit like Cyrus. Currently, he's on a mission to taste every ale across the Carpesian Archipelago, but nobody, least of all Cyrus, knows where life will take him next.
