Background:

Clover was born in 1766 to his father Karl Von Chatsburg, son of the 5th Prince of Carpesia, Leonard II. Clover's father was the second son of Leonard II and brother to Hans-Peter, the 6th Prince of Carpesia. Due to Karl being the second son of the Prince, he did not inherit the title of Prince of Carpesia. Leonard II thought of a compromise and bestowed the Lord-Mayorship of the capital city of Sinos to Karl. Along with this he gifted him the title of "Baron of Sinos" and a plot of land to build his estate within the limits of the city. Clover was raised by his father and mother in the Sinos estate and was exposed to much of the Sinos city life during his childhood there. He gained a particular interest in the artisans of Sinos and picked up their work as a hobby of sorts in his spare time. With his father he explored various realms around Carpesia including the capitals of Slorbia and Areole. On a trip to the farthest reaches of the Ciotterman  realm, his father died of the Jungle Plague. This cut the trip short and forced Clover to come back to Carpesia to get together his fathers affairs and take up the mantle of Lord-Mayor and Baron of Sinos.
