Background:
After losing everything to a horse race bet when he was young, Arthur signed up for the military in his homeland, Yeliccia, so he could get back on his feet, only to later realize the true nature of battle. He later hitched a ride on a tradesman's ship in order to flee the military, and ended up on the Carpesian Archipelago, where he would look for opportunities to get back on his feet and forget about his military role in Yeliccia.
