Background:

Haydar al-Vidin was born to a Čajra merchant family from Vidinia in 1764. He lived a very comfortable life, and was happy to learn the ropes of the mercantile business from his father. Haydar was not very keen on Čajra beliefs until grief pushed him there after his mother passed in 1779 from influenza. His father, on the other hand, became lost at sea in the fall of 1787. With the family ship gone, Haydar had to rely on his own cunning (and left-behind wealth) to recoup the losses. Haydar also took the time to pick up a trade from his father's best friend, Dabir, and Haydar now makes a very modest amount of income from his carpentry trade.

Owing much of the family's wealth from the good graces of the House of Zapto-Sharirid, Haydar decided to pay them back by offering his services as a clansman. After a lengthy initiation process, the clan accepted him. Haydar now works tirelessly to strengthen the standing of the clan as well the amount of his own wealth.
