Background:
Born in the mountains of Vidinia, Xerxes' father was a historian while his mother was a cartographer. As a result, Xerxes spent most of his childhood reading and looking at maps.
However, when Xerxes' parents were killed by bandits, he fled with other refugees from his village to a town outside of Sinos, where he set up a smithy and artisan shop by a dockyard. Over time, he worked his way into a position of modest wealth and began to look for ways to find his parent's lost book collection, a vast library of knowledge destroyed in the bandit attack. He continues to run his shop and search for the library to this day.
